This You Tube video by J Matthew Turner convincingly argues that Ralph Macchio’s Daniel Russo was actually the bully in the original 1986 film The Karate Kid, and that William Zabka’s Johnny was the flawed hero. This is actually pretty fantastic. There are some excellent points made here. You won’t watch the film the same way after you watch this.
