Netflix is looking to turn their hit series Wednesday into a franchise, as it’s been announced that Uncle Fester will be getting his own spin-off series.
Fred Armisen appeared in one episode of Wednesday‘s first season as Uncle Fester, brother of Wednesday’s father Gomez Addams (Luis Guzman). The Saturday Night Live and Portlandia star stepped into the iconic character for the Tim Burton produced and directed series, a role that was previously made famous by Jackie Coogan in the original Addams Family TV series and Christopher Lloyd in the feature films The Addams Family and Addams Family Values (the role was also portrayed by Pat Thomas in the film Addams Family Reunion and Michael Roberds in the short-lived TV series The New Addams Family).
Wednesday, which will see its shooting location move from Romania to Ireland for season two, was created by Smallville creators Al Gough and Miles Millar.
