The Tom Cruise project Mena is being pushed back from a January. 6, 2017 release to September 29, 2017. The film is also getting a name change, American Made.
Cruise will star in the true story about American pilot and hustler Barry Seal, who ran drugs in the 1980s for cocaine kingpin Pablo Escobar and was recruited by the CIA to run one of the biggest covert operations in history. The film is being directed by the star’s Edge of Tomorrow director, Doug Liman. The change to a fall release is reportedly meant to put the film in Oscar contention.
