SONY Pictures has released the trailer for “The Garfield Movie” starring Chris Pratt and Samuel L. Jackson.
After an unexpected reunion with his long-lost father – scruffy street cat Vic – Garfield and his canine friend Odie are forced from their perfectly pampered life into joining Vic in a hilarious, high-stakes heist. Mark Dindal (“Chicken Little,” “Emperor’s New Groove) directs “Garfield” from a script written by David Reynolds (“Finding Nemo”).
In 2004’s “Garfield: The Movie” and its follow-up, “Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties,” Bill Murray played the title role. Even though the live-action and CGI hybrid movies received largely unfavorable reviews from critics, they were commercially successful. The animated programs “Garfield and Friends” and “The Garfield Show,” as well as direct-to-video films like “Garfield Gets Real” and “Garfield’s Fun Fest,” have all been influenced by the franchise.
The Garfield Movie will be theatrically released in the United States on May 24, 2024.
