Quentin Tarentino’s post-Civil War film, The Hateful Eight, has been pushed back from its originally release date of November 2015, to Christmas Day for 70mm screens, and January of 2016 for a digital release. Tarantino is still holding on to his impractical and irrational hipster love of actual film, so the fact that the movie is getting a 70mm release is not surprising. What is surprising that the wide release is going to be after the holiday movie season.
The Hateful Eight tells the story of eight westerners who seek shelter in a stagecoach stopover on a mountain pass during a blizzard, and stars Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Walton Goggins, Demián Bichir, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen and Bruce Dern.
