It’s being reported that Quentin Tarantino will be producing a project that will focus on the 1969 Manson Family murders. Tarantino will write and direct the film, will longtime collaborators Harvey and Bob Weinstein producing. Tarantino film alums Brad Pitt and Jennifer Jason Leigh are said to have been approached to star.
The film would reportedly chronicle the murder of Sharon Tate, the pregnant wife of director Roman Polanski, as well as four others, whom Charles Manson had ordered be killed, believing the house they were occupying was actually that of a record executive that had slighted Manson.
The film is projected for a 2018 release. A Tarantino spin on Charles Manson is interesting in itself, but if Pitt is being considered for the role of Manson, this could be a very exciting project.
