Stan Lee Passes Away at 95

Legendary Marvel writer, editor, publisher and geek cultural icon Stan Lee has passed away at the age of 95 from complications from a stroke.

In collaboration with several artists, including Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, Lee co-created fictional characters including Spider-Man, the Hulk, Doctor Strange, the Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Black Panther, the X-Men, and, with the addition of co-writer Larry Lieber, the characters Ant-Man, Iron Man and Thor. In addition, he challenged the comics industry’s censorship organization, the Comics Code Authority, indirectly leading to it updating its policies. Lee subsequently led the expansion of Marvel Comics from a small division of a publishing house to a large multimedia corporation.

He was inducted into the comic book industry’s Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Jack Kirby Hall of Fame in 1995. In 2002, Lee published an autobiography, Excelsior! The Amazing Life of Stan Lee, and received a National Medal of Arts in 2008. Lee had been battling health issues for a few years. In late September 2012, he underwent an operation to insert a pacemaker, cancelling planned appearances at conventions.

Stan Lee  had cameos in more than 30 Marvel related projects, all of which you can find below.

Safe home, true believer.
