Peter Mayhew to Release Original “Star Wars” Script

As if Chewbacca wasn’t lovable enough already, he’s about to give Star Wars fans a treat. As many Star Wars fans may know, prior to the official title of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, the film was known as The Adventures Of Luke Starkiller as taken from the Journal Of The Whills (which is actually a pretty bad ass title). Well, in celebration of the filming of Episode VIII, actor Peter Mayhew is releasing a few pages a day (starting yesterday) of his original Luke Starkiller script via his Twitter account,  @TheWookieeRoars.

What the big announcement can only be speculated. We can assume it has to do with Chewie in Episode VIII, or possibly some info about the Han Solo film, which we can assume Chewbacca will be a part of. It’s likely, however, that Mayhew himself will not be in the Han Solo film, or not as much at least, as his mobility is limited these days. The Wookie duties in The Force Awakens were split between Mayhew and newcomer Joonas Suotamo, which will likely be the case in Episode VIII as well.

Now, versions of The Adventures Of Luke Starkiller as taken from the Journal Of The Whills have been online for a while now, but to have Mayhew’s copy of the script, which will include his own notes on the pages, is something that’s pretty special.
