The absence of Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts has not gone unnoticed by fans (she was casually written out in Age of Ultron), and Marvel has responded. Empire is reporting that Gwyneth Paltrow took part in reshoots for Captain America: Civil War, so we can expect at least a small appearance from Pepper.
Co-director Joe Russo spoke Empire about the impact of the film on the MCU:
“The consequences of Civil War will have an even more significant impact [than The Winter Soldier]. In Civil War, we’re going to change the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Psychology, and it’s an extreme shift. Winter Soldier was a political thriller; this is a psychological thriller.”
The director also added that it will have a “very dramatic ending that will be controversial for a lot of people.” The article also stated that test audiences are split on which side to take, Cap or Iron Man’s, so it should be great marketing for Avengers: Infinity War Part 1.
