In Casting We Hoped Would Happen news, Paul Rudd is in final negotiations to star in Jason Reitman’s upcoming Ghostbusters sequel, now titled Ghostbusters 2020 (not super crazy about the title, but beggars can’t be choosers). Rudd made the announcement himself via the film’s Twitter page:

Rudd is reported to portray a teacher, though we would hope that he would be suiting up and strapping on a proton pack at some point in the film. The Ant-Man actor would be joining Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things, It), Mckenna Grace (Gifted). and Connie Coon (The Leftovers). It’s rumored that original stars Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson and Sigourney Weaver will be involved, though it’s not known to what degree.
Ghostbusters 2020 begins production with a July 10, 2020 release date.
