“I wouldn’t call this a Superman sequel. This is Batman versus Superman, so it’s a separate entity altogether. It’s introducing the Batman character, and expanding upon this universe, which was kicked off by Man of Steel. It’s an introduction to the [Batman] character, and ultimately an introduction to Justice League..”-Henry Cavill
So tell me.. doesn’t it sound like he’s basically saying “Well Man of Steel was MY movie and since it was critically divided but monetarily successful, they decided to totally push me aside and pull the biggest trump card they have ( batman ) to put a band-aid on the giant wound DC has inflicted before their slate even started”
I could be nitpicking but seriously WTF are they doing over there at WB? Notice even Superman himself got the title of the film wrong…
Either way, we still have some time left to get our own butts hurt before the unnaturally early 2016 release date but honestly what more is there to say besides.. “man.. they fucked it up before it even began”..
I can see the cynicism is high in these thoughts I mean seriously, how can you get an overall tone and vibe from a film from just one teaser? I’m not sure.. but if you google “The Force Awakens teaser” I can almost guarantee you’ll find out what “good hype” means and then you’ll understand how to portray tone and vibe in under 2 minutes without any controversy at all. Trailers are becoming an art form within themselves and now with the Internet at everyone’s fingertips they are very important to get right.
Now I am not saying this movie will be bad or horrible nor am I saying “ITS TOO DARK FOR SUPERMAN” like MOST pundits are pointing out. I welcome the darkness, but only to a point. DC isn’t Marvel, but it truly seems they are lost in a haze of making it much too obvious that they are different instead of just making great films. However since the slate basically hasn’t even truly started, only time will tell.
I still stand by the fact that Cavill and his Superman have been pushed aside to make way for the caped crusader. Which just sucks for him, but could be a win for us.
