Early negotiations are underway for Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Teri Polo, and Blythe Danner to star in the next “Meet the Parents” film. The fourth movie in the series’ plot is yet unknown.
The screenplay will be written by John Hamburg. Through Tribeca Productions, Jane Rosenthal and Robert De Niro will serve as producers. Production will be handled by Jay Roach via Delirious Media. Red Hour Films will be the production company for Ben Stiller and John Lesher. The project will be managed for the studio by director of production development Jacqueline Garrell and executive vice president of production development Matt Reilly.
“Meet the Parents” became the seventh highest-grossing movie worldwide in 2000 after earning over $330 million at the box office. With the success of its follow-ups “Meet the Fockers” and “Little Fockers,” the franchise earned over $1.13 billion at the box office worldwide.
