The internet recently got in a tizzy (which it tends to do) when, fresh off the heals of the death of David Bowie, it was announced that the 80’s classic Labyrinth was getting a reboot, to be penned by Guardians of the Galaxy co-writer Nicole Perlman. Fans were naturally upset, as Bowie’s body wasn’t even cold yet, making the timing very convenient. Rebooting the film without Bowie was upsetting enough to fans, let alone waiting to capitalize on his death to announce it.
Well, as it turns out, the announcement wasn’t quite to heartless as was thought. Perlman went to Twitter to clear things up a bit:
OK, so they are not rebooting, which means they are not replacing Bowie, which should make fans a bit happier. But the timing of the announcement is still a bit fishy.
