Leaked set photos are indicating than fan favorite Nathan Fillion will have at least a small role in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The pictures are of a movie theater marquee that is showing a Simon Williams film festival, which features Fillion in the movie posters as Williams. In the comics, Simon Williams is a reformed villain who spent some time as an Avenger as Wonder Man, before quitting to start a career as an actor and stuntman. In a fun MCU nod, one of the posters has Williams playing Tony Stark in a biopic.
This could just be a fun Easter egg, or it could mean we’ll be seeing more of Fillion and Wonder Man in the MCU. If anything, it hints that at least a part of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will take place on Earth. We’ll find out on May 5, 2017.
