‘Yes, that headline us correct. Michael Bay is taking crack at another generation’s television hero. It’s being reported that the “bigger is better” director will be producing a live action big screen adaption of the bilingual educational children’s show Dora the Explorer. Bay will produce along side his Platinum Dunes partners Andrew Form and Brad Fuller, and will be part of Paramount’s new Paramount Players division.
Nick Stoller, the writer/director of The Muppets and Neighbors, will be penning the script, which will reportedly center on a teenage Dora who moves to the city live with her cousin Diego. For those Dora enthusiasts, that means will closer follow the plot of the more recent Nickelodeon series, Dora and Friends: Into the City. Parents know that means there will be considerably less yelling and bossing your kids around (seriously, that’s all Dora ever did).
