SONY Pictures has released the trailer for MADAME WEB, starring Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney.
Madame Web tells the standalone origin story of one of Marvel publishing’s most enigmatic heroines. The suspense-driven thriller stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who may have clairvoyant abilities. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women destined for powerful futures…if they can all survive a deadly present.
Madame Web first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #210, published November 1980, and was created by writer Denny O’Neil and artist John Romita Jr. She is usually depicted as a supporting character in the Spider-Man comic book series, where she appears as an elderly woman with myasthenia gravis, connected to a life support system resembling a spiderweb.
The film, which also stars Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Mike Epps, Emma Roberts, and Adam Scott, was directed by SJ Clarkson and produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura.
MADAME WEB opens February 14, 2024.
