DC’s highly anticipated Joker origin film finally has a teaser trailer. In 1981, failed stand-up comedian Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix) is disregarded by his society and turns to a life of crime and chaos in Gotham City. Taking place outside of the current DCU, this film feels more of a DC Elseworlds tale than anything, which given the DCU’s history, might be a move in the right direction.
Also starring Robert Deniro, Zazie Beetz, Frances Conroy, and Bill Camp as Thomas Wayne, Joker opens October 4, 2019.
