In an article in Entertainment Weekly, it was confirmed that Jenna Malone has been cut from the theatrical release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but will remain in the R rated extended Blu-ray/DVD release. It’s been rumored that Malone will play either Barbara Gordon (AKA Batgirl, or the wheelchair bound Oracle), or Carrie Kelley, the female Robin from Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns graphic novel. Given the inspiration that the film has drawn from Dark Knight, the latter seems more likely.
The article also points out that we won’t be seeing a new version of the Green Lantern until Justice league Part 2, which is scheduled for a June 14, 2019 release date.Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be released March 25, 2016.
