Paramount Pictures has confirmed that principle photography has begun for Jack Reacher: Never Go Back. The sequel to the 2012 film will once again star Tom Cruise, and will be based on author Lee Child’s 18th book in the bestselling Jack Reacher book series. Edward Zwick (The Last Samurai, Blood Diamond) is set to direct, and will also star Cobie Smulders, Danika Yarosh, Patrick Heusinger, Austin Hebert, Aldis Hodge, and Holt McCallany.
The original was a moderate success in terms of critical response and box office, but it a favorite for Cruise, so a sequel is not surprising. The film is set for release on October 21, 2016.
