J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World has announced “Harry Potter At Home,” a series in which the entirety of the book “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” (or “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s’ Stone”) will be read online, with each chapter read by a different celebrity. First up is Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe. Also lined up so far are Stephen Fry (who narrated the UK “Harry Potter”audiobooks), David Beckham, Dakota Fanning, Claudia Kim, Noma Dumezweni and Eddie Redmayne, with more to come. With an enormous cast list over ten movies, we are hoping to hear from other Potter actors as well. We would also love to hear from Jim Dale, the Grammy Award winning actor who narrated the US “Harry Potter” audiobooks.
All 17 chapters of the book will be released between now and mid-summer. Videos will be posted weekly on harrypotterathome.com, with an audio-only version available for free on Spotify.
