Denis Villeneuve’s Dune adaptation is turning into an A-list shmorgishborg, and given the film history of Frank Herbert’s classic sci-fi novel, he’s going to need all the star-power he can get. Neither David Lynch’s 1984 adaptation or the 2001 miniseries were received very well. Lynch’s Dune was no slouch in the casting department either, with Kyle MacLachlan Patrick Stewart, Sting, Sean Young, Virginia Madsen, Max Von Sydow, Linda Hunt, Dean Stockwell and a very young Alicia Witt.
Denis Villeneuve’s Dune will be released on November 20, 2020.
