Warner Bros. and DC Studios now have their new Clark Kent and Lois Lane after months of audition tapes and in-person screen tests. In James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy, David Corenswet will play Superman, while Rachel Brosnahan will play Lois Lane.
The choice was made after the two were among a small group chosen to audition for the roles in front of DC co-chairs Peter Safran and Gunn (who is directing).
The movie will be Corenswet’s first significant main part in a major studio production after his prior roles in We Own This City, The Politician, and Pearl. His name rose to the top right away, and after that last audition, he was given the biggest job of his career to date.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, an Amazon original series that has garnered numerous honors including an Emmy, is where Brosnahan is currently filming the last season of her career-launching role. Following what many have referred to as the best audition of the process, she has also been at the top of the list of women to play Lois Lane.
Superman: Legacy is set for a worldwide release on July 11, 2025.
