Couch Potato Critic Review: “Deadpool 2 Super Duper Cut” Blu-ray

First and foremost, let me make this clear, I LOVE good comic books, and even more so, I LOVE great comic book films.

Period.

Second, I must also make it clear that I am an old school guy, when it comes to comics. I prefer a Batman who is out for justice and not revenge, a Punisher who’s out for revenge and on a mission to rid the world of criminals, a Daredevil trained by Stick, who’s in love with Electra, and always conflicted because of his Catholic faith, and I will always LOVE Wolverine when he gets super pissed. When it comes to Deadpool, I want him just the way he was made, totally meta, crude, and rude as hell. Deadpool was NEVER meant for little kids. He was written for us older comics guys, who’d grown up reading comics, and were burgeoning adults when he made his debut.

So, the films…

The first Deadpool was an amazingly fun, and hilarious film, and Deadpool 2‘s theatrical release surprised me, as being just as much fun as the first film. But, out of the blue, came Deadpool 2 the Super Duper Cut, and I state unequivocally that THIS version should have been the one in theaters. I really had no idea they could surpass what was on the big screen, but I was totally wrong. As they have advertised, the Super Duper Cut really is much more laughier, tons more more cryier, and so much more songier. In fact, the impact of including the acoustic version of “Ashes” by Jordan Smith just slam dunked that scene, and hit me in the gut even harder this time ’round. That’s right, I am a military vet, a former boxer, and YES, Deadpool 2 made me cry like wee baby Hitler.

I give Deadpool 2 (Super Duper Cut) a solid 5 out of 5 potatoes.
I’d give it six, if I could only hold that many at once.
