Some unfortunate news for Blade fans, as Marvel Studios has removed the long-in-development reboot from its upcoming release slate. It was previously set to hit theaters on Nov. 7, 2025, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU. Disney has instead included the 20th Century Fox movie, Predator: Badlands on that date.
The film has struggled to get out of development hell since it was announced back at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con. Mahershala Ali is reportedly still attached to portray the titular character in the movie, which will feature the full debut of Ali in the role following his vocal cameo in 2021’s Eternals. Blade has already gone through two directors, Bassim Tariq and Yann Demang, and a string of screenwriters A new director has not been announced for the reboot yet.
