Bill and Ted Face the Music has come one step closer to coming to fruition, as it was announced that Brigette Lundy-Paine and Samara Weaving have been cast as Billie Logan and Thea Preston, respectively. The pair will be portraying the time-traveling duos’ daughters, whom if you caught the names, have been named after each other. Lundy-Paine starred in the Netflix series Atypical and the films The Glass Castle and Downsizing, while Weaving (niece of Hugo Weaving) was in the films The Babysitter and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, and the Showtime series SMILF. Producer Scott Kroopf had this to say about the casting:
When we saw Samara and Brigette together, it was like deja vu. It was exactly the way we felt when we first saw Keanu and Alex. We are so thrilled to have this funny and unique pair join the Bill and Ted team!
William Sadler, who played Death in Bogus Journey, will be returning to reprise his role alongside Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves. Here is the official synopsis of Face the Music:
Following 1989’s “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure” and 1991’s “Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey,” the stakes are higher than ever for William “Bill” S. Preston Esq. (Winter) and Theodore “Ted” Logan (Reeves). Yet to fulfill their rock and roll destiny, the now middle-aged best friends set out on a new adventure, when a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save life as we know it and bring harmony to the universe. Along the way, they will be helped by their families, old friends and a few music legends.
Bill & Ted Face the Music opens on August 21, 2020
