Remember when it was reported that Ben affleck was writing and directing the upcoming Batman solo flick? And remember when Warner Bros. confirmed a 2018 release for the film? Well, not so fast. Affleck recently told The Guardian that while he acknowledges that “the idea” is for him to direct the film, tentatively titled “The Batman,” he stated “…it’s not a set thing and there’s no script. If it doesn’t come together in a way I think is really great I’m not going to do it.”Affleck was recently quoted as saying:
“I’m not going to write and direct anything that I don’t think is good enough to be made. I’m definitely going to make sure I have something that is special — there’s not enough money in the world to make a mediocre version of Batman worth it.”
Batman News is reporting that should the project happen, it will likely be using Los Angeles as a backdrop for Gotham City.
